Chinese Stir Pressed Fry Tofu with Bell Pepper

Veggie and tofu stirfry made tasty with a special, easy technique for giving the tofu more texture and flavor. Serve over rice or on its own – a healthy and delicious weeknight meal. In this receipt, I used pressed tofu.    It is the typical ingredient to use in Chinese stir fry tofu dish as it holds its shape so we don’t need to fry or pan fry it.   It is a much healthier version of the stir fry tofu dishes that are popular in the USA.   You can find it in many Asian supermarkets.   If you can not find pressed tofu,  I have the receipt for regular tofu here.

Pressed tofu comes in many different flavors.   All flavors are great for stir-fry.   It also makes very good snacks just as is.  The usual ones are :

Regular:

Soy sauce flavor:

Smoked:

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. pressed tofu,  sliced into 1/4 inch thick pieces
  • 3 cups sliced green and red bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon gigner sliced.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 dried hot chilly pepper (skip if you don’t like spicy food)

 

Directions:

Step 1:    Cut bell pepper into thin slices.  Mince garlic.   Cut ginger into thin slices.   Slice pressed tofu into 1/4 inch thick pieces.

 

 

Step 2:     Heat a pan and then pour-in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.  Sauté the garlic, ginger, and dry hot chilly pepper.

 

 

Step 3:    Put-in the sliced bell peppers. Stir and then cook for 3 minutes.

 

 

Step 4:   Add the fried tofu slices along with the oyster sauce. Stir for one minute.   Add salt and pepper to taste.

    

 

Transfer to serving plate. Serve with rice. Share and enjoy!
