Oyster Sauce Tofu

 

Oyster Sauce Tofu is a delightful vegetarian main course that is light and healthy.

 

Ingredients

1 lb  firm tofu, cut into cubes

oil, for pan fry tofu

1 green onion, sliced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

3 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 egg

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon sugar

salt, to taste

sugar, to taste

 

Direction:

Step 1:     Cut tofu in half then make 1/4 inch thick slices.    Mix 1 egg and dip tofu slices into egg.  Make sure tofu slices are covered in egg.

            

 

 

Step 2:     In a preheated medium non stick  pan, add 3 tablespoons of oil.  Set at low heat.  pan fry tofu slices until golden brown.

        

 

Step 3:    Mix half cup water with soy sauce, salt, sugar, and oyster sauce   Add sauce mixture to the pan.    Bring up to a boil.  Let  cook for 5 minutes.  Add sliced green onion.

        

 

Serve with rice.
