Curry Puff

curry puff is a snack of Southeast Asian origin. It is a small pie consisting of curry with chicken and potatoes in a deep-fried or baked pastry shell.  Not only Curry Puff easy to make since the frozen puff pastry sheets are readily available at any major grocery stores, but it is also a perfect afternoon snack for everyone at home, at work, or just anywhere on the go.  And it is a great way to use up left over curry.

 

 

Here is the recipe for easy vegetable curry, Chinese chicken curry, coconut beef curry.

Ingredients:

2 package puff pastry sheets

curry of your choice

1 egg

1 tablespoon sesame seed (optional)

Step 1:    Half the frozen puff pastry sheets with a sharp knife. Wait for it to melt slightly, then spoon a tablespoon of filling in. Fold and seal the sides with a fork and place on parchment paper for baking. Repeat for the rest.

                

 

Step 2:    Bring curry puff to baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush egg mixture onto the top surface of each pastry.  Sparkle sesame seeds on top.  Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until top is golden brown. Remove and cool for 10 minutes.
