Spicy Green Beans Stir Fry

This spicy Asian green beans recipe is so quick and easy to make. These Asian style green beans are crispy, tangy, spicy and ready in just 15 minutes.

 

 

 

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Sesame oil
8 dried  Red chilli pepper
8 cloves Garlic
1 green onion cut into 1/2 inch chucks
1 lb French green beans
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon White wine vinegar
1 teaspoon Honey

1 tablespoon Sichuan peppercorn (optional)

1/2 inch piece of ginger, sliced

 

 

Direction:

Step 1:  Heat up a pot of water.  add 1 teaspoon of salt.  Bring up to a boil.   Add string bean.   Let it blanch for 2 minutes.   Drain the string beans.  Set aside.   Preheat a wok or large stainless steel skillet over high heat. Add the sesame oil and allow to heat for 30 seconds. Add the green beans. Stir-fry, tossing and stirring until the beans begin to crisp on the ends and are becoming tender, about 5 minutes.

            

 

Step 2:    Add the dried red pepper, Sichuan peppercorn, green onion(white part), garlic, and ginger and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add salt.  Pour in the soy sauce, white wine vinegar, and honey. Stir to combine. Allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes until the beans are still crisp but tender and the sauce is thick and reduced.
