INGREDIENTS
2 lb chicken wings
2 tablespoons peanut oil (or cooking oil)
1⁄3 cup dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine or 2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 thumb ginger, sliced
Direction:
Step 1: Make a few cuts on each chicken wing to better absorb the flavor. Add chicken wings, soy sauce, honey, wine or sherry, garlic and ginger to a large bowl, mix well. Set in the refrigerator for 30 mins.
Step 2: Heat oil in wok or skillet and fry chicken wings on high heat for 3-4 minutes, or until browned. Add everything left in the marinating bowl to the wok. Bring up to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until tender. Stir frequently towards end of cooking and make sure the chicken wings do not stick to the wok.
Serve warm.
